Our Services
The full scope of hospitality IT: designed, specified, and managed independently.
A hotel’s technology systems do not operate independently. Infrastructure determines what systems can run and how well. Voice and data carry the communications those systems depend on. Guest-facing applications are only as good as the integrations behind them. AV and entertainment systems are an extension of the overall connectivity strategy. Carrier and vendor contracts define what the property pays for all of it.
Convergent Services covers the full scope of hospitality low-voltage technology, not as a menu of unrelated services, but as an integrated discipline where each decision affects the others. Our principals bring together expertise across all of these areas, which means that whether we are engaged across the full scope of a project or in a single service area, we understand how our work fits into the larger picture.
We do not sell any of the products or services we recommend. Our independence from all vendors, carriers, and manufacturers means every recommendation, across every service area, is made without a financial interest in the outcome.
Infrastructure
Physical infrastructure, structured cabling, fiber backbone, conduit pathways, telecommunications rooms, and network architecture, is the foundation everything else runs on. It is also the most difficult and expensive element to correct after the fact, which makes getting it right from the start the most cost-effective decision on any project.
We design infrastructure to current performance standards: Cat6A structured cabling, Wi-Fi 6 and 6E access point infrastructure engineered for high-density guest and staff environments, fiber backbone for inter-building and riser runs, and telecommunications room layouts sized to accommodate the full scope of systems in use now and anticipated in the future. For operating hotels undergoing renovation, we design and manage infrastructure upgrades with the constraints of a running property in mind.
- Cable plant designed for current and future guest device density, not just today's load
- Specifications that reduce the risk of costly field changes or post-opening corrections
- Infrastructure compatible with brand standards and all systems in scope
Voice & Data Communications
Voice and data systems in a hotel serve guests, staff, and management simultaneously, and their requirements are not the same. Guests expect reliable, fast, friction-free connectivity from the moment they arrive. Staff depend on communication systems that keep operations running. Management needs systems that are cost-effective, supportable, and scalable as the property evolves.
We design and manage voice and data systems as a coordinated whole: IP telephony and unified communications to replace aging PBX infrastructure, guest Wi-Fi designed for actual peak demand rather than theoretical averages, carrier and bandwidth procurement handled independently of any provider relationship, and staff communication platforms appropriate to the property's operational model. Each component is specified and integrated with the others, not sourced and deployed in isolation.
- Guest connectivity infrastructure sized for real demand, including peak periods and high-density events
- Voice and telephony systems that reflect how hotels and guests actually communicate today
- Carrier and bandwidth procurement managed without a financial relationship with any provider
Computer Systems — Front of House & Back of House
The applications guests and staff interact with daily, cloud-based property management, point-of-sale, mobile key access, digital signage, in-room entertainment, and the integrations that connect them have a measurable effect on both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. When they are well-integrated, they work invisibly. When they are not, the gaps create the kind of ongoing operational friction that is easier to live with than to trace back to a root cause.
We design and oversee the implementation of FOH and BOH systems with integration as the primary objective: system selection, interface specifications, vendor coordination, and implementation oversight. For properties where brand-mandated systems are already determined, our work focuses on the systems where there is flexibility to optimize and on ensuring that the full stack operates as a cohesive environment from day one.
- Systems selected for integration compatibility and total cost of ownership, not just acquisition cost
- Implementation oversight across the full stack, from PMS and POS to access control and building automation
- Coverage of brand-mandated system requirements alongside the systems where independent selection adds the most value
AV & Video
Audio-visual systems shape how guests experience every part of a property, from the in-room display and entertainment system to the meeting room technology that determines whether a conference runs smoothly, the background audio in lobbies and dining spaces, and the digital signage that carries guest communications throughout the building. These systems also include the security and surveillance infrastructure that operates largely out of sight but is critical to property safety and risk management.
Today's hospitality AV environment is defined by 4K displays, IPTV systems with integrated access to streaming platforms, BYOD casting via Chromecast and AirPlay, and meeting room technology built around the video conferencing platforms business travelers depend on: Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and others. Security and surveillance has migrated to IP-based camera systems with centralized management and remote monitoring capabilities. Digital signage is no longer static, it is integrated with property management and event systems to deliver timely, relevant information throughout the property.
We guide hotels through the selection, specification, and installation management of the full AV scope, ensuring that what is specified is appropriate for the property's service level, brand standards, and budget, and that it integrates correctly with the broader technology environment rather than functioning as a collection of isolated systems.
- In-room entertainment that meets current guest expectations: streaming, casting, and content access without friction
- Meeting room AV that supports the platforms business travelers are already using
- Security and surveillance systems scaled and designed for the property's actual monitoring requirements
- Digital signage integrated with property management and event systems, not bolted on as a standalone display
Carrier & Vendor Services
The contracts a hotel holds with its telecommunications carriers and technology service vendors are among the most consistently overlooked sources of unnecessary cost. Guest bandwidth demands have increased dramatically, the carrier market has grown more competitive, and service options that did not exist when most hotel contracts were written are now widely available, often at better terms. Very few hotel operators have the market knowledge or negotiating position to evaluate this independently.
We evaluate existing carrier and vendor agreements against the current market, identify gaps between what your property is paying and what it should be paying, and manage the competitive evaluation and transition process where a change makes sense. We work for you, not for any carrier, vendor, or service provider. Our only interest is ensuring that your property has the right service, at a fair price, with contract terms and service level commitments that protect your operation.
We have yet to work with an existing hotel where we were unable to reduce telecommunications costs, improve available bandwidth, or both.
- Carrier and vendor agreements evaluated against the current market, with no financial relationship with any provider
- Competitive bid management and contract negotiation handled on your behalf
- Service level and contract term review to ensure the agreement protects the hotel's interests
Network Architecture & Segmentation
A hotel network serves fundamentally different user groups simultaneously, guests expecting fast, frictionless internet access; corporate and management systems requiring security and stability; and operational technology including security cameras, access control, building management, and property systems requiring isolation and controlled access. When these networks are not properly designed and segmented, the results range from guest experience problems and operational friction to genuine security exposure for the business.
We assess current network architecture, identify gaps in segmentation, performance, and security posture, and design or manage the implementation of network configurations that serve all user groups appropriately. Our work encompasses initial assessment and recommendations through vendor selection, implementation oversight, and verification.
- Guest, corporate, and operational networks properly isolated, protecting both performance and security
- Network architecture that supports current systems and accommodates future additions
- Independent assessment with no stake in any particular network vendor or platform

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work with independent hotels, or only national brands?
Both. We have worked with major national brand families including Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott, as well as independent ownership groups, boutique properties, and regional operators across a wide range of property types and sizes. The complexity of the technology scope, not the flag or the room count, is what determines whether we are the right fit.
How are your fees structured?
Our services are provided on a per-project basis with no ongoing retainer requirements. Fees vary depending on the scope, duration, and complexity of the engagement. We are happy to discuss your project and provide a clear picture of what involvement looks like and what it costs before any commitment is made. For existing operating properties evaluating carrier and vendor services, a contingency-based fee structure may be available in some cases, contact us to discuss.
Can you handle a single service area, or do you only work on full-scope engagements?
Either. We regularly engage on focused, single-area projects, a carrier contract evaluation, an AV specification for a meeting room renovation, a Wi-Fi assessment for a property experiencing guest complaints, as well as on full-scope engagements covering everything from infrastructure through systems and carrier services. The scope of our involvement is defined by what is useful to your team.
Do you manage installation, or only advise on what to build?
Both, depending on what the project requires. Our involvement can range from advisory and specification services only, through full installation oversight and testing management across all systems in scope. We do not perform the physical installation work ourselves, we manage, coordinate, and oversee it, working directly with the vendors and on-site technicians to ensure the work is done correctly.
Whether you’re planning a new build, evaluating an operating property, or somewhere in between, we would like to work with you.
